"Small but Mighty", the Ram Marching Band is the most visible Badin music ensemble. The band's high-energy, musically complex shows have made the ensemble a fan favorite at competitions and parades throughout the region. The group performs live before tens of thousands of spectators each season, and often before large television audiences as well.
The Ram Marching Band performs at all Badin varsity football games, home and away, including playoffs. The band is also a regular participant in many parades, including the Hamilton Santa Parade, the Badin Homecoming Parade, the Hamilton Memorial Day Parade, the Hamilton Bells On Independence Day Parade, as well as the Findlay Market Red's Opening Day Parade and St. Patrick's Day parades in downtown Cincinnati. The Ram Marching Band also participates in select performances around the country, including a performance at the EPCOT World Fest March at Walt Disney World in 2007.
The group is a fan favorite at marching band competitions and exhibitions throughout Ohio, but selects only 3-4 to perform at each season due to other scheduled committments. The band scores well with competition judges as well, having received the Ohio Music Education Association rating of "Excellent" each in 2003, 2004 and 2005, and placing in the Top 25 at the Mid-States Band Association Marching Band Championships in 2003, and in the Top 20 in 2004, both years competing against bands from across Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. In 2006, the band received its first-ever1st Place award in OMEA competition, placing first in Class C at the 30th Annual Hamilton Band-O-Rama.
The band has also been selected to perform several times on live television in recent years, including an appearance on Good Morning, Cincinnati on TV-12 in 2004, and performing on the Friday Night Finals broadcast, also on TV-12, in 2001.
